Débora Russ interprets various directories and aesthetics of Traditional and contemporary Tango, nuevo and electro Tango.
She surrounded herself with musicians who - except their control of the "tango language" - have a big knowledge of the improvised music (jazz or contemporary music) and Latin music. Her desire is to "write a music not only from Buenos Aires but also from Argentina and Latin America ".
Flamenco dancer at the beginning, Débora Russ turns then to Tango and is elected « best Tango singer» in 1997 at the " Festival de Cosquin ", that leads us to be famous on the national and international stage.
During this period and until 2001, she’s on stage with the most symbolic bands and masters of the tango and the Argentine folklore. Then, she settles down in France, and tours in Europe in the most prestigious venues.
In 2004, invited by the University of Vichy in France, she participates in the creation of the contemporary tangos of the composer Luis Naon. She is regularly invited by Juan José Mosalini and his orchestra, Gustavo Gancedo, the Norwegian group Electrocutango, the French Quartet Caliente (prize-winner of the International Competition " Astor Piazzolla Music Award " in 2004) with whom, she interprets the directory of Piazzolla.
She joins the feminine Orchestra" Black Flowers " (CD " The Black Flowers " Milan Universal-Warner Music, released in November, 2007) and collaborates with the French artist Sophie Calle for her work " Take Care of you " presented at the Biennale of Venice in 2007.
The same year, she creates the Débora Russ Ensemble supervised by the double bassist Mauricio Angarita. (CD ANDARES-AEON-Harmonia Mundi. Aecd0979, 2009).
