Karim Ziad & Hamid El Kasri - Yobadi
A fruitful collaboration between to masters and their companions with different musical heritage - including jazz - for an initiatory travel through gnawa music

Leader of Ifrikya, Karim Ziad also programs the Festival of Essaouira, the « Folles Nuits Berbères » at « Le Cabaret Sauvage » in Paris and is a talented drummer. He shares his musical identity between his roots from the Maghreb and his passion for Jazz.
The project for the record « Yobadi » is the fruit of a narrow collaboration between Karim Ziad and Hamid El Kasri.
They played numerous times together as well in Morocco as on the international stage. Hamid had on numerous occasions emitted the wish to sing on the arrangements of Karim.
Yobadi gathered close musicians, long-time companions for this project in the new rhythmic dynamics, the harmonious colors having for base the traditional gnawa music.
