Aïda Nosrat was born in 1983 in Tehran. She began her musical studies at the age of six and chose to focus on the violin at ten. She continued her advanced violin training and went on to study musicology at university. At just seventeen, she joined the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
When she met guitarist Babak Amir Mobasher who would later become her husband she began a twelve-year exploration of the Spanish Gypsy musical world alongside him. Together, they formed the duo Aïda & Babak, blending Persian vocals with jazz, flamenco, and other musical languages from around the world.
They eventually decided to leave Iran to pursue their artistic careers free from the restrictions imposed by the Iranian regime. Shortly after arriving in France, they released their first album, Manushan, in 2016 on the Accords Croisés label, followed by a French and international tour.
